Credit Advancement Options

Future Ready Hybrid course offerings give eligible students flexible opportunities to complete selected courses online while still meeting graduation goals and individual scheduling needs.

Who Is This Option For?

These opportunities are designed for students who are self-motivated, need scheduling flexibility for options like early graduation, work-based learning, or dual enrollment, and are willing to communicate with instructors and support staff when help is needed.

Important Guidelines

  • Approval is required by Future Ready before enrolling
  • Overall GPA must be 2.75 or higher
  • Students must maintain a C or better average in online courses after completing at least two classes of record
  • Students on a flexible schedule must maintain an 80 or above average in all classes
  • An 80 average or better is required in the last associated course before enrolling in the online course
Students should have access to reliable technology, demonstrate responsible behavior in traditional classes, and complete the required approval process that includes parent, student, counselor, and teacher agreement.

Student Requirements

  • Overall GPA of 2.75 or greater
  • C or better average in online courses after at least two classes of record
  • 80 or above average in all classes for any flexible schedule
  • 80 average or better in the last associated course before online enrollment

Additional Expectations

  • Reliable device and internet access
  • Positive discipline record and responsible classroom behavior
  • Strong communication and willingness to ask for help
  • Future Ready approval for exceptions of any kind

Approval Process

  • Future Ready approval is required before enrolling
  • Students may take one course outside the school day with Future Ready permission
  • Parent, student, counselor, and teacher approval contract required

Students Who May Be a Good Fit

  • Self-motivated students
  • Students needing scheduling flexibility
  • Students balancing early graduation, WBL, DE, or similar needs
  • Students who have shown they can work independently

Reasons to Not Enroll

  • Teacher conflicts
  • Not self-motivated
  • Students with prior academic integrity violations in online learning environments
  • Students who have not shown the ability to achieve a B average in prior in-person courses

Why Families Consider This Option

Hybrid and online options can help students create more flexible schedules while still pursuing graduation requirements and other pathway opportunities. The goal is to match student needs with a setting where they can be successful.
